While in Montecito for the devastating mudslides our task force was assigned initially to secondary searches of houses (or what was left of them) and getting good intel was often limited or unknown.
Further into our assignment I was able to gather a list of the names of the still missing folks and cross reference them with FirstTwo. Thus giving us a list of starting points for where some of the victims had lived.
Unfortunately for us and victim’s families it did not lead us to any survivors or body recovery. I have little doubt that we will have the opportunity to use the app in that capacity again.
Even having a cell phone number which could be called in the rare hope of hearing one ring in the rubble could provide that little bit of luck needed for success.
